Roads Scholar I Program

This statewide program is designed for local level transportation personnel to expand their knowledge and improve their skills in roadway maintenance and management techniques. There is no cost to participants. We try to make sure participants do not have to travel more than one hour each direction to attend our sessions. This is a great way for roadway agencies to keep their employees properly trained and educated on efficient and safe roadway management techniques! To get a sampling of our courses, click here.

To be recognized as a Roads Scholar I graduate, a participant must attend eight of the nine one-half day courses and complete a short quiz on each course. While employees will not receive a collector car, or a dream vacation, each graduate will receive:

A Wide range of knowledge

A Personalized certificate

A Coffee mug

A Roads Scholar baseball cap

"I think that the training, availability and use of the materials provided by the Center through the Roads Scholar Program has been and will be very beneficial to those that have had the opportunity to attend and I hope the program is ongoing as it will allow the Department to better serve the people through knowledge."
